More work on my 'audacious' journal pages complete with cut out flowers and other awesomeness. It isn't finished yet, though, so pictures will have to wait. I also did some work on the Artist's Way and figured out how I'm going to use my prayer beads - for affirmations, among other things!
Affirmations always make me feel somewhat dumb and hokey, but I admit that I am perfectly happy to heap piles and piles of negative affirmations upon my head, so countering them will naturally feel...well, unnatural. Affirmations (be they negative or positive) are the easiest form of magic I know, and incorporating them into a daily routine should be easy.
I pretty much suck at the 'doing magic' part of paganism, tho' many would argue that I live my whole life as an act of magic, and I couldn't disagree with them. The trick is to ritualize the things I already do and recognize magical acts where they already exist. Add intention, et voila! Magic.
I think I'll post more on this tomorrow! Stay tuned. :)

I love doing affirmations. Sometimes I write them down and other times I just repeat them in my head....but they work for me. I'm not very good at rituals. I tend to forget them!

Affirmations are something I struggle with--mostly in their infant stages. I often get caught up in the wording, trying to tweak them this way and that so they are absolutely "perfect". It's really all about intention though, isn't it?
Two days ago I listened through all your podcasts! Love 'em! I truly appreciate your down to earth style and ease--you tackle some pretty sticky issues with grace and humor. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and your life with us!
I'm definitely going to write down some words on working in ritual space and art as religious practice. When I was listening to the podcast I forgot I was listening to the computer "talk" and actually answered it when you addressed working in a sacred grove or other magickal space: "Absolutely! All the time!" It really got my gears turning and I'm anxious to jot down some thoughts. :)
Much Joy, Merry Making, and Many Blissings~*

Darkly,
Common threads! good point on the affirmations; I'm a pessimist and it takes a lot to recognize when I'm doing('having') those negative affirmations.
And you're spot on with the magic; I'm not so "organized ritual" either, but add intent to the everyday magic of live...
Good thoughts!
